Caregiver Resources

Caregiving is difficult and the decisions caregivers make are difficult. They are complicated, involving different, sometimes conflicting, factors. And they almost always come with time pressures, emotional pressures, and stress. Caregiving can also trigger a host of difficult emotions, including anger, fear, resentment, guilt, helplessness, and grief. The resources found here can help caregivers get the support they need while caring for someone they love.

Elder Abuse Resources - New York State                                                                                                                Elder abuse, neglect and unfair treatment are often hidden, buried in secrecy and shame. Older adults are often hesitant to reveal incidents of abuse, particularly when the abuser is a family member. Adding to the problem, many health care, law enforcement, financial and aging service professionals do not understand or recognize the signs of elder abuse, neglect or mistreatment. When they do recognize the problem, they often do not know where to turn for help.
