HPCANYS STAFFJeanne Chirico, MPAJeanne is a seasoned healthcare executive with over thirty years of experience in hospice, palliative care, and community-based healthcare. With a Master's in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Developmental and Behavioral Disabilities, Jeanne has a strong foundation in both healthcare administration and patient-centered care. As the current CEO of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State, Jeanne provides strategic leadership and advocacy to ensure quality end-of-life care for all New Yorkers. Previously, as VP of Community Services at Rochester Regional Health Home Care and Hospice, Jeanne founded a nationally recognized pediatric palliative care program and oversaw a large hospice, palliative care program, and licensed agency. Recognized for her expertise in end-of-life care and community-based services, Jeanne was named to the City and State 2024 Health Care Power 100 in January 2024. Jeanne was selected as one of the 100 statewide leaders recognized for shaping healthcare policy and practice in New York. Jeanne also recently served as the Chair of NYS Master Plan on Aging Long Term Care Services - End-Of-Life Workgroup, contributing to New York State's Plan focusing on ensuring dignified and independent aging for all individuals. Additionally, Jeanne has contributed to several peer-reviewed journal articles and is a frequent presenter on hospice, palliative care, and advance care planning topics. As President and CEO of HPCANYS Jeanne has brought together her passion for grass-roots advocacy along with her knowledge and experience in home and community-based services. This combination serves to advance policy and support for quality end-of-life care through collaborative and broad-based networking and relationship building. Eva CohenDirector of Regulatory and Community Affairs Eva Cohen joined HPCANYS in August 2022 as Director of Regulatory and Community Affairs. Eva is a social worker by trade with over two decades of hospice experience. She has a demonstrated record of success and achievement at a leading provider of home health care and hospice services, marked by a series of promotions to positions of increased influence, authority, and accountability.As Director of Hospice, Eva fulfilled a critical role managing multidisciplinary hospice and palliative care teams meeting the needs of home based and skilled nursing home patients throughout three counties. The operation of an eleven bed, free-standing inpatient unit was also included in her responsibilities. Eva’s areas of strength include a strong attention to detail, a broad knowledge of Hospices’ complex network of compliance/regulatory issues well as proven experience leading new initiatives that foster the growth and future development of the hospice mission. Eva was recognized with the 2016 Lifetime Way Award for Leadership Eva attended SUNY Geneseo /Arizona State University. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Arizona State University. |
