We Honor Veterans Partnership held a
FREE Educational Webinar Series for Hospices and VA Health Systems
July 8, July 22, August 5 and August 19, 2020
2:30pm - 4:00 PM
Vietnam Veterans have faced higher rates of disability and psychological issues than WWII veterans and some are facing the end of life confronting long suppressed memories of the traumas of war. They are a unique group for us to provide hospice care to.
HPCANYS, in partnership with VNSNY and MJHS, is doing a free 4 part educational series for hospices to enable your hospice to better assess and care for Vietnam Veterans. The grant is as a result of NHPCO’s Vietnam Veterans initiation in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve the care of Veterans on hospice that have been impacted by trauma. These web based programs will provide education, best practices and helpful tools to improve understanding of key resources and services available from the Department of Veterans Affairs ( VA health care benefits and Veterans Benefits), assessment and care planning for Vietnam Veterans, trauma informed care and the We Honor Veterans programs as well as VA Hospice Partnerships.
Presentations will be recorded and archived for on-demand viewing.
