Member Categories

Membership in the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of New York State is offered in the following categories:

  • Provider - Hospice or palliative care programs, i.e., any program providing for or planning for specialized care to patients with advanced or life-limiting illness and their families. Hospice annual dues are based on the number of patient days in the prior calendar year. You will need to contact the Association to calculate the annual dues. Palliative care provider dues are $600 annually.

  • Allied Institutions - Allied institution, i.e., organizations that do not provide or plan for specialized care for patients with advanced or life-limiting illness, but who support the purposes of the Association.   • Individual - individuals who support the purposes of the Association. Senior Citizens (defined as any person 62 years of age or older) are eligible for membership at a reduced rate. Individual membership annual dues are $50 with multi-year options available. Senior membership annual dues are $35. Click here to review Individual Membership benefits.

Member Services

  1. Advocacy on behalf of the membership, including legislative (federal and state) and regulatory issues.
  2. Professional Education through the Association's annual conference as well as seminars and workshops.
  3. Timely communications through the Association's quarterly newsletter and Directors' Memos, and weekly Hospice News Network.
  4. A statewide database for benchmarking. This web-based data will provide hospice providers with statistical information about their program compared to other programs in New York State.
  5. Outreach to the community-through its 800 number, and presentations to community groups, the Association helps educate the public about the benefits of hospice and palliative care.
  6. Peer groups - the Association provides opportunities for peer groups, e.g. billers, finance officers, to meet on a regular basis for education and the sharing of information and ideas.
  7. Technical assistance on a broad range of issues is provided upon request.
  8. The Association serves as a liaison to national, regional, state and local health care providers and associations.
