Gala Celebration & Live Auction

To celebrate 30 years of serving families in New York State, HPCANYS is hosting a Gala Celebration on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Albany, NY. We expect to welcome staff and friends from hospices throughout New York State. This event will be held during our Annual Interdisciplinary Meeting and Seminar - the largest educational outreach effort by the Association each year. The purpose of the celebration is to help HPCANYS to continue to better serve communities throughout New York State.

This event will feature gourmet cuisine, live and silent auctions and an off-off-Broadway production of "180 Days," a solo show by Taren Sterry, actor, comedienne and Hospice Volunteer Program Manager. This show is currently sold out in its first off-Broadway run. In 180 Days, Taren takes the audience on an intensely personal and surprisingly funny journey through her first six months as a hospice volunteer. Hoping to help patients find meaning at the end of life, through unexpected and humbling events, she discovers hidden qualities in herself that give her own life purpose.

The highlight of the evening will be a live auction. Bid on getaway packages, sporting events, artwork, jewelry and one-of-a-kind gifts and services.

This fundraiser will help HPCANYS continue to provide educational programs, services, and support as well as referrals to hospice and palliative care program members and the community throughout New York State.
